Checklist for incoming officials
1. Fill out the W-9 and SABO Independent Contractor Form. Both are linked below; return them to SABO secretary Lynne Murphy at lynnemurph11@gmail.com
2. Pay SABO Dues: $93 for returning members & $70 for new members
3. Register with FHSAA: FHSAA Central Hub in Arbiter.

* Click the link and click the registration tab at the top
* For association, select: Southern Association of Basketball Officials
* This should register you for an Arbiter account.
Early Deadline: October 30 / Registration Deadline: November 13 @ 12 pm
Late Registration Window: December 1-3

Fingerprinting & Badge Information
Important: New Fingerprinting Process
DO NOT use Fieldprint. Fieldprint procedures are no longer valid.
All applicants who need fingerprinting, including sports officials, must complete the Clearinghouse Demographic Background Screening Request Form before being fingerprinted.
What You Need to Do
1. Complete the Clearinghouse Form
Complete all required fields and be sure to include your email address and telephone number.
2. Submit the Form to DCSPD
Send your completed form to the Duval County School Police Department by:

DO NOT email the form. It contains sensitive information.
3. Wait for Approval
Do not register for fingerprinting until your information has been verified in the Clearinghouse. You will be notified when you may proceed.
Already Fingerprinted?
If you were fingerprinted before completing the Clearinghouse form, complete the form immediately and contact Mrs. Downer. Your fingerprints may need to be processed again.
Badge Instructions
New Badge: Follow the JLA BADGE INSTRUCTIONS.
Lost Badge: Follow the JLA BADGE ONLY INSTRUCTIONS if your badge is still current.
Replacement Badge Fee: $10

6. Get books: officials manual, rule book, case book, copy of rule changes
- Rule book, case book, and official manual can be ordered through SABO.
7. Take the rules test when it opens: Exam Window 1: October 19-November 13
- Rules exams have no time limit
- No make-up exam offered.
- Officials can save and exit the exam as many times as necessary. Once the “submit exam” button is clicked, your test will be graded, and your one (1) attempt is completed.
- Exams that are incomplete once the deadline passes will not be graded.
- Failure to receive 75% or higher will result in being eligible for Sub-Varsity assignments only.
- Individuals who complete their exam during the first window and meet all other requirements will be eligible for postseason assignments.
- After the first exam window, all officials who did not complete the exam will become ineligible. However, an official can regain their 26-27 eligibility by completing the exam during the second or third exam window. Please note that the official will not be eligible for postseason games after the District Tournament.
- Each official has one (1) attempt. The second and third windows are not makeup opportunities for those who did not pass a previous attempt.
